Champagne, Cake & a new baby
Our good friends John & Emma came to show of their new arrival, baby Emily today.
Along came the proudest big brother of all, Charlie.
We enjoyed the afternoon with champagne, tea (served in my new lovely yellow teapot) chocolate brownies,
banana muffins and scones served with thick dollop of clotted cream & jam.
What a nice way to celebrate the birth of a new baby x

Home sweet home # 3
Here are the last pictures from our trip back home to Denmark in February.
The pictures are from Copenhagen where I spent a much needed child free Friday with my dear sister Mathilde. It's been ages since we had a day in CPH together. Many years ago before we both moved to UK we used to live together at the East part of the city. I was lovely to just wander around, people watching and shopping.
Later in the afternoon we helped a good old friend to take some photos for her website. There after we went to her place at Vesterbro (West side of Copenhagen) where we met up with a very nice bunch of Danish girls. We went for a late dinner at BioMio followed by drinks at PatePate and somewhere I can't remember the name of :-)
I was in bed by 5am.... That's the way to do it when you go out in Copenhagen (Sorry Mia for keeping you out past your bed time)

New Years eve
New Years eve was celebrated with good friends who just got back from their Polish Christmas holiday, They brought back a whole box of Polish goodies for us. Counting numerous bottles of alcohol, lovely chocolate and a massive Polish New Years cake.
Alistair cooked a beautiful meal (I made the starter though, a very simple but delicious prawn cocktail)
But the star dish was a wonderful, perfect cooked medium/rare beef wellington, with green beans and mash and a fantastic red wine sauce. (sorry no pictures) but the recipe can be found here.
We were supposed to finnish the meal with cheese & biscuits - but we were so full and the drinks kept flowing..... So we never got around to have any!
The kids counting two 6 year old girls and two younger boys had a great night with a 'Disco' in Ophelia's room. Later on when the boys were a sleep we all joined in for a bit of 'just dance' on the Wii, very entertaining.
Happy New Year

Sunday in Lille, France
Very early Sunday morning we drove to Folkstone to get the Eurotunnel. The drive from Calais to Lille is about an hour drive. I guess that is the beauty of living in Kent? Within a few hours your are in France, and can easy do day trips like this.
We meet up with our great friends Paul & Fidel who lives in Paris, to spend the day together, swap Christmas presents and look at the Christmas market.
They brought along their new family member; Lauren (Like Ralf Lauren) Very cute little dog - The kids loved it. We had a wonderful day and brought home some wonderful cakes..... (You must when you are in France)
