Now I just need to find time to sit down and be creative....

BRITISH thing of the week # 1

For a long time I have been inspired by this lady.

So from now on I will introduce you to 'BRITISH' thing of the week.
I will choose a product or item each week that is either British designed or manufactured.

This week it is a wonderful treat, perhaps quite childish? But I have a great love for it and I think it taste wonderful :-)

Lucky Stars

Lately I have been addicted to making origami lucky stars, I found a video on YouTube and followed the instructions, very easy! I bought the paper here.

I'm not quite sure what to use them for yet! Do you have any idea's?

I woke up to the most amazing sunrise this morning.... What a glorious day, it feels like spring!

Lazy Friday morning

Alistair had a dentist appointment this morning, so instead of being out the door before 6.00am he was home to do Ophelia's school run. That meant that Felix and I didn't have to get ready early, we just waved goodbye and had a lazy morning. We had a 'Quidditch' game, yes a 'Quidditch' game just like they do in Harry Potter. Felix has made up the rules, we have to pretend fly on pretend broomsticks and throw a soft ball up in the air, he seems to get a goal where ever the ball goes!! Great game :-) We followed this with a 'memory' game; again he makes up his own rules and I tell you he's a terribly bad looser, the pictures speak for themselves. He finished the morning watching a Barbie film (I was hoovering and cleaning bathrooms upstairs) Around lunch time we went to the shop so I could work a bit. Finally we had a busy day in the shop! this week has been ever so dead, the bad storms haven't helped, but today the sun was shining :-)

Whitstable

The 2'nd day of the year was spent at my all time favourite costal town in Kent, only a short drive from home brings us to this wonderful part of the county. The air was fresh and salty, the wind cold but the sun made it bearable - We had a lovely walk and the kids even enjoyed an ice cream on a bench, sheltered from the cold wind. After that trip we are now ready to go back to 'normal life' after more than 2 weeks holiday. 2012 here we come............

New Years eve

New Years eve was celebrated with good friends who just got back from their Polish Christmas holiday, They brought back a whole box of Polish goodies for us. Counting numerous bottles of alcohol, lovely chocolate and a massive Polish New Years cake. 

Alistair cooked a beautiful meal (I made the starter though, a very simple but delicious prawn cocktail)

But the star dish was a wonderful,  perfect cooked medium/rare beef wellington, with green beans and mash and a fantastic red wine sauce. (sorry no pictures) but the recipe can be found here.

We were supposed to finnish the meal with cheese & biscuits - but we were so full and the drinks kept flowing..... So we never got around to have any! 

The kids counting two 6 year old girls and two younger boys had a great night with a 'Disco' in Ophelia's room. Later on when the boys were a sleep we all joined in for a bit of 'just dance' on the Wii, very entertaining.
