Twinkle Twinkle little star

I got this brilliant idea from this lovely blog. Our kitchen window is facing the front of our house but we never bothered to have a blind or curtain. But in the dark months we always feel we could do with something to give us a bit more privacy, so this was the perfect solution.

All I had to get was some d-c-fix from Homebase, a star punch which I found on ebay, a bit of patience and voila our window was transformed.

Sausage rolls the Danish way

This is really easy, it's a bit of a cheat - but who cares?

All you need is a bread mix like the one you see below or something similar, a pack of 'Frankfurters' an eggs and optional you can sprinkle with either sesame seeds or black onion seeds.

White chocolate and liquorice almonds

When Malene was over last week, she showed me how to make these yummy treats, they are very much inspired by the very expensive Summerbird, liquorice almonds :-)

Have a go, they are very easy to make...

All you need is:

Almonds

Good quality white chocolate

liquorice powder 

Cocoa powder

Roast the almonds on a baking tray in the oven for about 5-6 min at 170˚
cover them in melted chocolate
let them cool quite a bit before dusting them with a mixture of liquorice* and cocoa powder.

*I use Johan Bulow liquorice powder, due to its strength in flavour I mix it with cocoa powder, if you choose to use a different make you might not need to mix it up.

Also if you're not keen on liquorice, try to dust them with cocoa powder on its own, I'm sure that would be nice to :-)

Nativity Play @ Meadow

Today it was Felix turn to star in the Nativity play in his pre school, He was one of the 3 wise men, all dressed up in colourful ropes. It was a lovely play, with a lot of great songs from the lil' ones, including 'special' effects only 3 year olds can deliver; like farting, picking noses and running off stage to get a cuddle from a parent :-) Big love to my little man xxx

Sunday in Lille, France

Very early Sunday morning we drove to Folkstone to get the Eurotunnel. The drive from Calais to Lille is about an hour drive. I guess that is the beauty of living in Kent? Within a few hours your are in France, and can easy do day trips like this.
We meet up with our great friends Paul & Fidel who lives in Paris, to spend the day together, swap Christmas presents and look at the Christmas market.
They brought along their new family member; Lauren (Like Ralf Lauren) Very cute little dog - The kids loved it. We had a wonderful day and brought home some wonderful cakes..... (You must when you are in France)
