It's nice up North
Last week the kids and I had the privilege to go on a mini holiday. We went on the train from Kings Cross up to my parents in law who lives in Billingham (Just outside Middlesborough) a 280 miles journey which normally takes 5 hours drive from Kent. But a relatively *relaxed train ride only takes 2.40 hours from London. (*traveling with Felix is never relaxed) We arrived Sunday night just in time for a lovely BBQ. The following day we went to Sandsend located just a few miles from Whitby, at the foot of Lythe Bank, is a small picturesque village set against a backdrop of cliffs with two meandering streams leading to a long sandy beach. The kids enjoyed playing cricket with Grandad, having picnic on the beach and playing in the water.
